Digital Gramps and a thousand flowers

Death is just the beginning

Digital grampa

Digital emulation of dead people coming fast. So, this isn’t the cool total emulation we’re all looking forward to but more of the chatbot of you. Better than nothing.

Of course, why wait until you’re dead? Celebs will be getting in on this soon.

And, in a bit of tragic comeuppance, the most easily emulated will be the people with the most content. Your cousin that posts insta reels every 20 minutes? Great candidate. Makes one question whether these emulated beings deserve rights.

Grease

  • Back to the funeral market! Start creating packages for the recently deceased. Text, image—pick your modality or pick em all!

  • Infinite influencers. Turn tools into bots and let them create unlimited personalized content!

  • Buy those rights! We keep coming back to this, but there’s a coming wave of digital rights markets and services coming. Get yours.

AI world tour

A thousand AI flowers are blooming in China (hopefully with a less Maoist conclusion this time). Europe sets sail for new AI shores.

While current models are expensive, in the scheme of possible uses they’re actually pretty cheap to train. So everyone is doing it.

The big current models are also very (though not totally) English-centric. Which means a literal world of opportunities!

Grease

  • Train (or re-train) models in local languages. This one is some easy short-term grease (before the big players come in with multi-lingual or their own non-english models).

  • Censorship for fun and profit. Ok, those 1000 Chinese flowers are already getting cut down. Pick a side and help out! Sell censored training services (something the big cos will never do). Or, take the other side and find ways to slip uncensored bots past the firewall. Heck, train a bot horde to hack the firewall! Be a modern Khan!

  • Start collecting non-English data and own the training set market!
